Help us campaign today for a better tomorrow!
How are you different than your opponent?
Management Skills, Experience and Education. From Manager to President, I worked with the heads of different departments, especially Engineering, Finance, and Operations to reach successful project results. I’ve worked with large companies to start-ups with large to small budgets. A council member interacts with the Mayor, other council members and staff and also represents the city on Boards made up of members from several nearby cities, i.e. fire commissions, watershed districts. My experience in reviewing accurate data, making decisions and influencing matters that directly affect the future of Minnetrista residents makes me the best candidate for City Council. My career background and education are on www.linkedin.com.
How does your experience and background qualify you as a council member?
Council members do not have the authority to act or make decisions as individuals, therefore, the years that I spent developing “influence management” skills will be required to reach a quorum for the council to give direction and make policy. I spent many years developing and using these skills to get teams with different perspectives to work toward common goals. My strong research and executive skills are needed to determine project costs, taking the initiative to speak with experts to gather information and checking state statutes that govern a particular action being considered.
What are the most important issues facing Minnetrista and how do you plan to address them?
In canvassing for the campaign, I’ve asked our residents for their greatest concerns. A number of issues were voiced but the most prominent one, due to the Covid virus, is steady, dependable, Internet service. This is of paramount and urgent importance for all areas of Minnetrista. Many adults are working from home and many children are being schooled remotely. I know people who can help us get the best possible solutions for Internet service throughout Minnetrista. The first step is to get this topic on the agenda of the Council, then, to enlist the aid of experts, timeline a plan and get it done.
Ann MacGregor will bring a proven business track record and skills to the Minnetrista City Council.
Ann MacGregor, a 24 year Minnetrista resident, is running for Minnetrista City Council in the November 2020 election, bringing proven leadership skills to focus on practical competence and fiscal oversight in addressing the needs of the community.
With over 35 years experience in the medical industry, Ann has held senior executive leadership positions including CEO, President and General Manager roles in a range of companies from start-ups to large corporations. She had profit and loss responsibility in the companies and divisions that she managed, working with finance, operations, research and development, quality control, regulatory, sales and marketing to create a united effort for progress.
MacGregor will bring these skills to the job of City Council Member with a focus on creating innovative solutions and strategic planning for the future that will benefit everyone as we face the challenges ahead for our city.
"As a long time Minnetrista resident, I think city council could do a better job at helping its residents make their home improvements with less paperwork and restrictions. I also believe that in this digital age, new methods of regularly engaging residents on the Internet could be created so that they could better participate in the consideration given to the city's needs.
"As a council member, I will make outreach a priority, so citizens can weigh in directly on how they want their tax dollars spent, and decide how to responsibly manage the growth of this city while preserving the natural habitats that we enjoy.”
